Please help us spread the word about The Girl Epidemic with your friends:

The Girl Epidemic along with Mahindra Foundation USA helps garner donations and support for the education of underprivileged girls in India, through Project Nanhi Kali. The project was initiated in 1996 by Anand Mahindra, Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., with the aim of providing girl children primary education. In 2005 K C Mahindra Education Trust partnered with Naandi Foundation to ensure that Project Nanhi Kali provides underprivileged girls 10 years of quality education. These two nonprofits work with 21 NGOs to provide yearlong academic support and material support including school uniforms, school bag, shoes etc. In India with millions living below poverty line, it is often because of a lack of these items that parents stop sending girls to school. Project Nanhi Kali helps free the parents from this burden, improving school attendance and enabling girls to go to school with dignity. As a result, 75,000 girls in 9 states of India are receiving educational support and the project aims to reach out to 5,00,000 girls by 2014. The Girl Store

The Girl Epidemic

Educate a girl child; Help save her life.

Girls are being treated like they’re an infectious disease.
As a result, over a million disappear every year—many
falling victim to infanticide, sex slavery, and child labor.

Fortunately, the cure is in reach.

Educating a girl is the most effective cure. Because when
you educate a girl, you make her a valued member of society
and begin changing deep-seated social norms and injustices.
Help a girl gain an education and stop this epidemic.
